The truth is, nail appearance can have a major impact on making a good first impression. Consider this: Would you rather shake hands with someone who has clean, healthy-looking nails or someone with broken, discolored, or otherwise ratty-looking fingernails?

1. Green Tea.
Prepare a nail soak with 2 teaspoons of green tea, a pinch of salt and a few drops of wheat germ oil. Soak your nails in this mixture for 5 minutes, then wipe it off with a dry cloth. Repeat this procedure twice a week.

2. Tea Tree Oil.
Prepare a solution with ½ teaspoon of vitamin E oil or jojoba oil and 4 or 5 drops of tea tree oil. Apply this solution on your nails and massage gently for a few minutes. Allow it to dry, then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Do this once a week.

3. Vitamin E Oil.
Break open a vitamin E capsule to extract the oil. Apply the oil on your nails and massage gently for a few minutes. Do this daily before going to bed for a few weeks.

4. Egg Yolk.
If your nails get weak due to dryness, this is the best home remedy for you. Mix egg yolk with milk to prepare a mixture. Massage it onto your nails for a few minutes. Rinse it off with fresh water. It would provide the needed moisture to your nails.

5. Vegetable Oil.
This remedy is effective if your nails are over-exposed to water. Take any vegetable oil and apply it to your nails using a cotton ball. Massage it gently for five minutes. Do it 3-4 times, daily to get healthier nails.
