Bad breath or Halitosis is one of the most common conditions that we come across. At least 25 to 35 % of the people suffer from this condition. There are many reasons why people suffer from this condition. The most common are the plaque, the bacteria, that are present on the teeth and it is also known as morning breath. That is the most common cause. The same plaque that sits inside the gums an the tongue surface is what leads to more gum issues like gingivitis and periodontitis. that is the other most common cause for bad breath we se. other causes are the foods like onion garlic, that has a distinct odour that cause a bad breath. Others are general health issues like regular heart burn, people burp and people do feel the breath which is not good and if people have intestinal disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, lactose intolerance do have certain kind of breath which is very sulphurous in nature and that cause for this bad breath is treated. So the cause of the bad breath is treated like if it is intestinal problem or the heat burn, the cause of that with medication is controlled before the breath can become fresh there. So the first thing to do is really good brushing. Brush twice a day, floss your teeth, rinse with a mouth wash, scrape your tongue very well and these are the things to do to control bad breath. Other common home remedies that we use to control bad breath is we need to have some salivary gland stimulation for the bad breath. So we can chew on some fennel seeds, aniseeds o jut put a clove in the mouth and chew on it. The things to do is chew on some mint, parsley, cilantro, it actually gives out chlorophyll which goes and neutralizes the odour there. One more to that can be done at home is take a glass of water and put a little bit of baking soda and rinsing it out.
