5 Homemade Cystic Acne Remedies That Really Work

One of the worst types of acne is cystic acne. This type of acne is painful and can cause damage to the skin, which will probably leave scars. They usually appear on the face, chest, back, arms or shoulders.

Taking proper care of your skin and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are very important for the treatment of cystic acne.

There are some home remedies that can help treat, reducing swelling and fighting infection.

1. Turmeric
To get rid of cystic acne, you can use saffron. This spice has curcumin, which reduces swelling and relieves pain. It also kills germs and fights infection.

Add a little water or sesame oil to 1 or 2 teaspoons of powdered saffron until it forms a paste. Put on the wound and let it act for an hour. Then wash. Do this up to 2 times a day.

2. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is another form of healing. Being astringent helps remove oil and relieves pain and swelling. It also helps to clean the skin and balance the level of acidity.

Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water. Dip a cotton ball into the mixture and pass over the affected region. Let it act for about 15 min, then rinse with warm water. Do this twice a day for a few days.

3. Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil helps to unlock the sebaceous glands, cleanse the pores and dry out acne.

Place 1 or 2 drops of tea tree oil on a cotton pad and gently pass over the affected area. Leave on for a few hours or overnight. People with sensitive skin should mix 1 part tea tree oil with 3 equal parts of water.

Do this once a week.

Some people are allergic to tea tree oil, so it is best that you test before.

4. Sodium bicarbonate

Another great cure for cystic acne is baking soda. This is because it kills germs and reduces swelling. Baking soda can reduce the oiliness of blocked pores and clean dead skin cells.

Mix 1 teaspoon baking soda with cucumber juice until it forms a thin paste. If you do not have cucumber, you can do with plain water.
Place on affected area. Let it rest for a few minutes then rinse with warm water.
Do this once or twice a week.

5. Food Changes

Making some changes in your diet can stop any type of acne, including cystic acne.

Follow a low glycemic index diet with whole grains, beans, fresh fruits and green vegetables.
Eat nuts and seeds rich in Vitamins A and E. Drink lots of water throughout the day to eliminate harmful poisons from the body.
Eat little or no milk.
Do not eat oily, greasy and spicy foods that can make acne worse.
Avoid sugary foods.
